The High Country in Early Spring

Many thanks for the chance to experience your rental operation and crew. The crew was extremely knowledgeable and friendly working with some of our "rookie' drivers.. I must say the equipment was the most reasonably priced....newest and cleanest I have ever used. My 85 year old mother "MARY DEE" had a blast..you sent us up through Tincup and up to Mirror Lake..what a majestic drive and our photos reflect it...Our entire group are still talking about it today..The RZR was a blast..anyone a little nervous about a young rider holding on or taking an elderly rider along can rest at ease that this is the way to go. My mom said she has not had this much fun in over 20 yrs. We used one of every unit..and we traded drivers to experience them all ...great time had by all... The surrounding territory was breathtaking and unspoiled. I must say..if you come to this area and do not experience this first hand..you missed one of the most enjoyable adventures the mountains has to offer. Thanks Again!

An Early Spring Camping Trip

My boys and I rented 2 ATVs, early spring 2009. It was pretty cold but it was the best camping vacation we ever had!! The ATV and the RZR were a blast. We had the trails to ourselves and a great camping spot. When we finished we were already making plans to come back. And we plan to be back around the same time in 2010.

Heading out from Pitkin

Decided to finally get around and send some photos of our rental and let you know how much we enjoyed the use of the ATVs. You made it very easy for us to pick up the ATVs in Gunnison the evening before and trailer up to Pitkin. Having the ATVs in Pitkin was great and allowed us to easily get to, and in and around, Pitkin and to Fairview. We later went to Alpine tunnel and all the trails around Hancock Pass and on to Saint Elmo. Thank you for the opportunity to have a great vacation.

Sincerely,
Neil Clark

Riding High in Colorado

As a repeat customer, Colorado Adventure Rentals is THE place to rent ATVs in Colorado. Not only do they have great service and equipment, but they are centrally located in the heart of the Colorado Rockies. The Pitkin, Taylor Park, and St. Elmo areas are all accessible from the rental location without having to trailer any equipment. The trails in these areas are numerous, providing views of not only outstanding scenery and wildlife, but glimpses back into history with ghost towns, abandoned mines, and even remnants of a railroad throughout these areas. I have ridden in these areas for three years now and still have not covered all the trails. I intend to be back again next year, as I continue to discover everything this part of Colorado has to offer.

Thanks again!

Fall High Country Rides

It is old news that married couples don't go out on dates often enough. Our friends Darrell and Troy at Colorado Adventure Rentals solved this problem for my wonderful wife, Cathy, and me. This past fall, sitting side-by-side in an ATV provided by our friends, we left Taylor Park heading for Cumberland Pass on what we thought would be a couple of hours of sight-seeing. Our first stop was the ghost town of Tincup. It lived up to its quaint name with a turn-of-the-century church, rustic cabins and a cemetery complete with distinct Jewish, Catholic and Protestant hillocks separated by a meandering stream.

Next, giggling and snuggling, we bounced uphill and down, ricocheting around the switchbacks up and over Cumberland Pass. No cell phones. No kids. Just fun. my wife, the artist, insisted we stop to take in and photograph the beautiful patchwork of fall colors and withering mining and railroad relics.

Having arrived in the alpine community of Pitkin, we lunched at the general store and visited the funky museum and refurbished old town. No longer hungry, we set out for the highlight of the day: a drive up to the Alpine Tunnel. Back when competing railroads were vying to get west first, a hole was dug through the Continental Divide. (Whew!) To get there, you start along a beautiful golden corridor of aspen and pine. Soon we were inching our way along a shelf supported by hundred year-old masonry. It hasn't moved yet and didn't on our trip. It offers beautiful views of the Quartz Creek watershed and terracing beaver ponds. At the top, we reached our goal: the now-shuttered, but still impressive, Alpine Tunnel. Amazing!

Our two-hour adventure now pushing five hours, we retraced our tracks to Taylor Park. Careening over Cumberland Pass, we were still snuggling and giggling like we haven't for years. A great date for this old married couple!

Cross Mountain Trail in Fall

I have rented ATVs in Colorado before. This was my first time dealing with Colorado ATV Rentals and there was no comparison in terms of the quality of rental equipment and service that was provided. In my opinion, they are the best ATV rental company in Colorado. In addition, being located in Taylor Park allows rental customers to ride through some of the most scenic country in the United States. I will definitely be a repeat customer!

Darrell,

Thank you again for your help with the ranger and my husband's elk. It would have been really hard without it!

Thank you again!

Summer ATV Rides

I was considering many different areas and businesses to rent ATVs at, but Colorado ATV Rentals was the best pick! I checked out the web site and had nearly all my questions answered. I called Darrell and set up my reservation. Being a first timer to Taylor Park, Darrell answered all my questions and made the process very easy. I will be back to rent again.

Thanks Darrell!

Darrell,

Thank you all for a wonderful time in Colorado. If we old gals can make it to these beautiful sites on a RZR, anyone can!!! Thanks for the kindness of all your staff (Matt & Chris). I have beautiful memories because of you all.

Thanks,
Patsy Newton

On Top of the World in Colorado

Being on an ATV in Colorado at almost 14,000 feet is like being “On Top of the World”!

I’ve casually hiked many high mountain trails in Colorado, even made it to the top of a 13er or two. But riding an ATV to the top of a near 14er was, no pun intended, an over the top euphoric and spine tingling experience! The power of the ATV gave me the energy to continue on never ending trails until I was forced to give-way to darkness. Covering so much ground would have never been achievable in one day on foot. I’m no spring chicken anymore but my sense of adventure is still very much in search of a thrill!

If you’ve never experienced a Colorado mountaintop, smelled the early summer wildflowers or seen a big horn sheep graze on a mountainside, you don’t want to miss this opportunity! Seeing the Rocky Mountains from a mountaintop in the middle of the state of Colorado is a pleasure long remembered. This is a backcountry experience that can be shared by the entire family…well, maybe not the new baby!

Do you remember as a youngster playing outside until you were totally covered in the dirty dusty remnants of the day? When the lines of dirt rested in the creases of your neck and arms, we called them ‘beads’. Do you remember screaming for more of the dirty dusty fun even when your Mom was hesitant to let you in the house because she could hardly recognize you? This will be one of those memorable days!

We were impressed by the convenience of picking-up our ATVs at the Taylor Park Trading Post. This was only topped by the overwhelming Rocky Mountain hospitality received when making our reservation with Colorado ATV Rental! I highly recommend adding an ATV rental to your next Colorado adventure!

See you “On Top of the World”!

Spring Riding in Taylor Park

I always wanted to ride ATVs up in the high country and my husband and I finally got the chance to do this in the spring up in Taylor Park. With the run-off just beginning, we had a fun time riding through streams, on trails and in the snow. We headed up to Duncan Flats from the Tin Cup area but an afternoon storm turned us away just after lunch so we headed back to the main road and checked out Mirror Lake instead. It was a beautiful trip and we found that the lake was still frozen! Your new ATVs handled perfectly in the slippery mud and snow. We are so glad that we had the chance to do this. Thanks a lot and we’ll be back!
